About the Photographs The photographs were taken over some 30 years on the California North Coast, Sierra’s, Southern California, Hawaii, Washington, and Europe. The primary camera was a Canon and for the more recent photos, a Nikon. Photos were digitized using commercial sources or using a Nikon Coolscan 4000 slide/negative scanner. For the display, 50MB files were reduced to 100-300kb using Photoshop 6.0. Old or damaged photos were cleaned up in Photoshop to retain the original structure. Over 100 photos are in the on-site display, a select subset are on the web page.

The software was written specifically for display of the photos by the author. It uses Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 for the design with add-in modules from Sax software (file handling) and Softuarium ImagePak (picture handling).
The software allows user control of display speed, photo generation and screen update speed. The defaults are sequential, 5 second display and rapid update.
The display routines allow for 127 different options and is set for random selection by default.
Other routines are derived from software designed by BtB Software Note: The photo display options are only available when the photos are displayed off the web. The web display use only standard html/java display options.
