The HIV program is designed for the systems using the Abbott Quantum II EIA reader, Syva MicroTrak, OTC reader or other EIA reader, IFA (manual method), Western Blot and Viral Load.
Client entry is though our standard client entry module. The software recognizes code numbers for HIV or can accept real names for viral load testing (includes automatic generation of URN) and will be ready whenever we stop using these silly code numbers for a sexually transmitted disease.
Worksheets may be printed for any of the above tests by specifying a range of lab numbers, single lab numbers or repeats (1x, 2x, 3x). The number of tests specified in any one run depends upon the test being run .
More then one run may be set-up at any one time.
The last 20 runs are shown in a scrollable box, clicking on the run will recall all lab numbers in that run.
A "Quick Entry" is included for those labs or tests not using direct RS-232 cables for data entry. The Quick Entry has combo boxes for all standard results (Positive, Negative, Pending, No test, Not Tested, Lab Accident, Unsatisfactory) and a default key to "Make the rest Negative". Quick entry allows you to enter machine readings (indexes, absorbance or viral copies/ml) into the run.
After entering results, just click on "Move results to Print", sort the slips by clinic or client name and print the results. EIA, IFA and Western Blot may be printed on the same slip. A "Final" result is available for all specimens. Tests with a positive inital EIA are automatically given a "Pending" final result, and must be manually changed to the final result when all tests are completed.
Results may be edited at any time. Up to 9 repeats may be run on any one specimen for each of the tests (Viral load repeats in beta test 11-97). A final result and date can be entered when the first result and repeats are not the same. Repeats allow you to record the lab where repeat specimens were tested. The names of other testing labs are printed on the 8x11 inch lab slip in accordance with CLIA requirements.
Standard Billing, statistics and searches are included with this software.
The IFA software records both Infected and Uninfected cells and allows you to result each slide based on your readings
Western Blot has check boxes for p24, p31, gp 41, p55, gp 120 and gp160. There are 3 free-text boxes for recording bands not falling into the above catagories.
Viral Load records the # of copies per ml. and has quick buttons for <25 and >800,000 copies/ml.
For California, the information required for the HIV-1 Viral Load Test Voucher is built into the program (URN # (automatically generated from client entry information), EIP #, Ethnicity, EIP Eligibility, , zip code, annual income and visit date). The date/time of blood collection, receiving and, freezing is also recorded with the slip. Merging with the State database (using MS Access) will be done, once the parameters are defined by the State.
8x11 inch Viral Load lab slips may be printed with all required test voucher information and laboratory results. The standard BtB Software lookup and last100 programs will make it easy for clinicans to view changes in the viral load status of a client over time.
The viral load software is brand new. If feasible, bi-directional connection with the readers will be done to make data flow easier.
